One of the discoveries in the Dutch cuisine has been mustard soup. We’d never heard of it before (even with my husband Alex’s Dutch family) and we think it’s delicious.
I’d also been talking to neighbour Inge about home-made mayonnaise. We try and make as much as possible from scratch to avoid nasty additives, preservatives, colours – you know, all those unnecessary numbers on the labels. She wanted to give it a try too and so after discussing how to make mustard soup we decided to have a cook-off.
It was a lot of fun and need I say delicious, or as we say in Dutch heerlijk!
