Excitement plus!

Posted on

This is a phrase my husband uses to describe me when I am over excited – like today.

If you do not already know about the Five Languages of Love then I suggest finding out about them. It will totally revolutionise your relationships. For those that do, my language is ‘Gifts’ so today was very high on the Excitement Plus scale because my advent swap parcel arrived!

Look at all that lovely wrapping!  I can’t take my eyes off that unicorn and I really can’t wait for Saturday when the fun really begins.

[And then of course there’s the little worry that I hope the gifts I gave stack up with what I receive, but I try and convince myself that it’s the thought that counts.]

I’ve spent some time this week getting ready for the advent swap. How exciting!

I love to read. I think it’s actually vital for my mental health to have a book on the go. My sister (who blogs here) introduced me to this fantastic blog: 1001bookreviews.com

The folks here are aiming to compile reviews of all the books on the 1001 Books to Read Before You Die list. Great project. So I got involved.

You can read my review of The Life of Pi by Yann Martel here and maybe you might get excited and want to submit a book review too.

Inspired by Red

Bookclub tonight and at the last minute both of the other organisers pulled out and I’m flying solo! It’s one of those occasions where you need a little wardrobe confidence.

I love wearing red but this is one of those tops that really needs the right underwear, both in terms of colour and seam placement. As it happened I was already wearing what was required! Perfect.

Top – Noon (a shop in Amsterdam); jeans – Cheap Monday (a gift); shoes – super cheap from the market; earrings – from Korea (gift from little sis)

See what other lovely ladies are wearing over here.
